DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Alberto Meouchi (Massachusetts Institute of Technolo
gy)\, Kate Terrado (Northeastern University)\n\nCall for Exhibition Propos
 alsInformation + 2025\nNortheastern University + Massachusetts Institute o
 f Technology\nThe Information + 2025 Conference invites artists\, designer
s\, researchers\, and practitioners to submit proposals for an exhibition
that explores the theme of energy transition and its intersection with inf
ormation technologies. This exhibition seeks to inspire\, create\, and con
tinue conversations around innovative approaches to energy inclusion\, gen
 eration\, consumption\, distribution\, policy\, and the digital tools shap
ing the future towards energetic sustainability.\nExhibition Theme\nThe ex
hibition will explore intersections between energy and information technol
 ogies\, engaging with questions about sustainability\, climate justice\, a
nd energy inclusion\, digital tools for energy\, and visualizations of ene
rgy flows and data. We are looking for multiple\, diverse definitions of e
nergy.\nThe Information+ 2025 Exhibition invites engagement with topics su
ch as energy inclusion\, sustainability\, climate justice\, and digital to
ols shaping energy systems. What does energy mean to you? How do you defin
e it\, and how does it feature in your work?\nDiverse definitions of energ
y include:\n1. Physical Science: Energy is the capacity to do work in form
 s like kinetic\, thermal\, chemical\, and nuclear.2. Environmental Science
: Refers to natural resources harnessed for human use (solar\, wind\, foss
il fuels).3. Sociocultural Context: Symbol of vitality or momentum in comm
unities and systems.4. Information Technology: Power and efficiency of dig
 ital systems and computational tools.5. Artistic/Metaphorical: Movement\,
emotion\, and transformation in creative expression.\nFunding and Support\
n1. Physical InstallationFunding: One project up to $3\,000Possible Locati
ons: MIT Media Lab\, Killian Court\, Walker Memorial\, or Northeastern Uni
versityDescription:– Immersive\, interdisciplinary exhibits requiring ma
terial/labor resources– Must allow for audience engagement and spatial i
 nteraction\n2. Digital ExhibitionFunding: Up to $500 each (5 projects)Scre
 en-based works using MIT/Northeastern equipment (e.g.\, screens\, speakers
\, keyboards)\n3. Two-Dimensional WorksFunding: Printing support for up to
10 A1 postersVisually compelling representations of energy-related topics
\nAll selected teams receive installation support and will present at the
 Info+ panel during the opening.\nExamples of Potential Works1. Real-time r
enewable energy visualizations (solar\, wind)2. Data visualizations (e.g.\
 , CO2 emissions\, energy inequality)3. Projects addressing energy access a
nd underserved communities4. Simulations of energy futures based on consum
ption and policy5. Artistic reflections on cultural interpretations of ene
 rgy\nKey DatesRelease: March 28\, 2025Submission Deadline: May 30\, 2025 J
 une 16\, 2026Notification: Early July 2025Fabrication: July–October 2025
 Installation: Early November 2025Opening: November 14\, 2025\nSubmission G
uidelines\n1. Relevance: Must engage themes of energy transition and infor
mation technology.2. Suitability: Consider space\, ADA compliance\, digita
l infrastructure.3. Compliance: Must follow MIT safety\, energy\, and ethi
 cs guidelines.4. Submission Package:– 1 A1 PDF (posters) or 2 A1 PDFs (o
ther categories)– Project title\, 300-word description\, funding categor
 y– Sketches\, renders\, technical diagrams– Budget (if applicable)\, t
imeline\, and circularity plan– Team bios and contact info5. File naming
 :– Physical: PI_FIRST_LAST.pdf– Digital: DI_FIRST_LAST.pdf– 2D Work:
TD_FIRST_LAST.pdf6. Click on “Submit New Abstract” below.7. Add the s
ingle PDF in the "Attachment" section. Also\, In the “Content” field\,
paste a public link (e.g.\, Google Drive\, Dropbox\, WeTransfer) to your
PDF proposal. Ensure file access is not restricted.\nAdditional Requiremen
ts for Selected Projects– Detailed fabrication drawings with dimensions
 – Equipment list (screens\, power\, networking\, tools)\nSelection Crite
ria1. Relevance: Alignment with conference themes and subtopics2. Feasibil
ity: Achievable budget\, timeline\, and fabrication scope3. Space Use: Tho
ughtful engagement with physical/digital setup4. Sustainability: Recyclabl
e materials\, efficient energy use5. Collaboration: Interdisciplinary team
